Alice Bush Jones

Alice Bush Jones met her Lord Jesus face to face on Monday, June 2nd at the age of 90. She was born in Miller County, Georgia on June 8, 1934 to the late Eager A. and Louella Bush. Alice married the late Henry M. Jones in 1949 and was a devoted wife until his death in 1997. Her love language was serving others and she did this well for her family, friends and church. She was a member of Leesburg First Baptist but had attended Colomokee Baptist Church since 2022 when she went to live with her daughter. Alice was the beloved mother of Gerald (Donna) Jones, Leesburg; Denise English, Blakely; and Gayle (Chuck) West, Raleigh, NC. She was a proud grandmother to Justin (Shelly) Jones, Albany; Jason (Leslie) English, Lynn Haven, FL; Jamie (Ryan) Clements, Colquitt; Garrett (Jean) Jones, Albany; and Gracie (Cole) Privette, Oxford, NC. She delighted in her great-grandchildren Anna Ryan Clements, Harper Jones, Tanner English, Jameson Clements, Lowery Jones, Lawton Jones, Payson Jones, Ella English, and Kaylen Jones. She is also survived by her sister Barbara Jean Waller, Blakely; sister-in law Barbara Jean Bush, Leesburg; and half-siblings Vivian Sammons, Blakely; Barbara LaFoon, Fairfield Bay, AR; Lynn Grace, Venice, FL; and John Bush, Winter Haven, FL. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law Lynwood English; siblings Harry Bush, Leon Bush, Lucille Creel, Abner Bush, Charlene Johnson, Olin Bush, Joe Bush; and half-sibling Wayne Bush. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 4th , at Leesburg First Baptist at 2:00 pm followed by internment at Crown Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Bobby Harrell and Rev. Joshua Posey will officiate. The family will receive friends and family in the church foyer beginning at 1:00 pm. Pallbearers will be Justin Jones, Jason English, Garrett Jones, Ryan Clements, Cole Privette and Gene Webb. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Leesburg First Baptist (PO Box 1009, Leesburg, GA 31763) or Colomokee Baptist Church (2222 Colomokee Church Rd, Blakely, GA 39823).
