Betty Holt Pattison, born Elizabeth King Holt on September 12, 1938 in Atlanta Georgia passed away on March 6, 2022. She was the oldest daughter of Emmett P. and Mary K. Holt. Betty had a very interesting childhood moving to different parts of the south as her father was a freight procurer for the Seaboard Coastline Railroad. The family moved to Albany, GA in 1952, and Betty graduated from Albany High School in 1956. She was blessed to have many friends from school and church. After graduation she attended LaGrange College in LaGrange, GA, but a summer job with the City of Albany turned out to be secretarial career at the Public Works Department for 32 years. After giving retirement at home a try, she decided she needed more to do and became employed at her church, Porterfield Memorial United Methodist Church as the secretary in the Music Department for approximately 25 years. She loved singing in the church choir and did so for many years. Work was her mainstay throughout her life. In 1958 Betty had been writing a young man, Tommy Pattison who was in the U.S. Navy and on June 14, 1959 they were married at the First United Methodist Church in Albany by J. Frederick Wilson, pastor. They would have been married 63 years this coming June 14. They were blessed with 2 beautiful daughters, Sara Elizabeth “Beth” and Kimberly Anne “Kim”. Those family members who have previously passed away are her parents. She is survived by her husband, Tom Pattison, daughter Beth (Kent) Lofton of South Daytona, FL, Kim (Ken) Wild of Yulee, FL, four granddaughters; Mary Lofton Hunt (Bryan) and Sara Lofton of Jacksonville, FL; Emily Wild of Yulee, FL Lauren Wild (Tucker) Bruno of Pooler, GA; and two great-granddaughters, Avery Elizabeth Hunt of Jacksonville, FL and Natalie Bruno of Pooler, GA. Two sisters: Sally Holt (David) Howe of Concord, NC and Molly Holt (Dan) Barnett of Augusta, GA, and several nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be Thursday 11:00AM in the Porterfield Memorial United Methodist Church Sanctuary. Visitation will be 10:00AM beforehand.
