Mr. Edgar Colquitt Hanson

Edgar (Buddy) C. Hanson, 79 of Warwick, Georgia passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Buddy was born in Albany, Georgia on January 16, 1938. He was the son of the late Edgar W. Hanson and Earl Lee Hanson. He is survived by his wife, Glenda Blocker, his sons Eddie & Patrick Hanson, his step-daughter, Diana Lueke, his daughter-in-law, Martha Hanson (wife of Eddie), his son-in-law, Brian Lueke (husband of Diana), his brother, Hans Hanson, his sister-in-law, Pat Hanson, his grandchildren, Tiffany & Freddie Mohl, Jessica & Brent Peek, Kristian Hanson, Melissa Hanson, Shelley & Michael Korb and Brian & Christy Lueke, his great grandchildren, Madison Mohl, McKinley Mohl, Luke S. Peek, Peyton Peek, Logan Korb, Linleigh Korb, Leo Korb, Levi Korb, Cadence Lueke, and Melody Lueke. Buddy graduated from the University of Georgia with a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science. He practiced as a Livestock Nutritionist, he was greatly respected in his profession for his proficiency and experience. Buddy was always proud of his work and said, “No matter what you do, be a good one.” Buddy was also a member of Warwick United Methodist Church and served as a board member. Buddy loved to spend time with his family, he would constantly think of reasons for the family to get together and eat. His favorite traditions were Fourth of July cookouts where he cooked a whole pig and invited all of his friends and family to join in on the fun and Christmas Eve where he cooked steak or ribs and spent the night reminiscing and sharing stories. He loved to grill, and could out grill just about anyone he met. He also had a love for keeping a very well maintained yard. On his days off if he was not in Church or grilling you could find him on his lawn mower. He loved the Lord with all of his heart, mind and soul. Buddy was the bright light that kept his family grounded and full of laughter. Strong. Smart. Loving. Kind. Humble. God fearing. Determined. Hard worker. Jim Beam lover. Steak lover. Rib eater. Grill expert. Husband. Father. Grandfather. These words all describe Buddy. He was and will always be a stable and constant source of love for anyone who knew him. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Kimbrell-Stern, 1503 Dawson Rd., Albany, GA, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Services will be held Friday, June 9, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at Warwick United Methodist Church, 199 Magnolia St SE, Warwick, GA 31796.
