Mrs. Constance Littleton Houseman

Constance “Connie” Littleton Houseman of Albany, GA, was born on May 13, 1948, in Honolulu, HI. She passed away on March 26, 2026. She was a loving mother and “Nana” who was always willing to help family and friends. Mrs. Houseman grew up in Groton, CT and New Bern, NC. After graduating from New Bern High School, she graduated from the Wilson School of Nursing in Wilson, NC. She worked as a surgical and coronary care nurse in NC before moving to GA where she worked as an occupational health nurse in Bainbridge before moving to Albany when Miller Brewery opened. She worked there as a nurse, fire chief, and safety engineer before her retirement. Throughout her working years, Mrs. Houseman worked supplemental jobs as a fill-in nurse at other local factories and taught CPR classes for the American Heart Association. After her retirement, Mrs. Houseman worked for ACTO (Alzheimer’s Caregiver’s Timeout) and cared for her parents during the last few years of their lives. Mrs. Houseman loved being a nurse and even inspired several friends to follow her path. Just prior to her passing, she renewed her nursing license for the last time. In her spare time, Mrs. Houseman enjoyed volunteering for several local agencies: Lions Club (serving as co-president when she passed), Red Cross, American Heart Association (she was known as “CPR Connie”), March of Dimes, and Albany Amateur Radio Club. She also enjoyed crochet and BBC mystery programs. She loved bright colors, jewelry, sparkle, and fur. Mrs. Houseman was preceded in death by her 2nd husband Roger Houseman; her parents, William and Lila Littleton; and her ex-husband, Tom Hardison, Sr. She is survived by her son, Tom Hardison, Jr. of Albany (Kathy) and her grandchildren, Trey Hardison of Montgomery, AL (Ellison) and Angie Hardison of Albany; her great-grandchildren, Henry and Ellie Kate Hardison of Montgomery; and many friends from her work and community volunteerism. The family is thankful for the community at Viva Assisted Living for the care Mrs. Houseman received during the last year and a half of her life. The family will receive friends at Kimbrell-Stern Funeral Home on Saturday, March 28, from 4:00-6:00 PM. Mrs. Houseman will be interred in the columbarium at St. Teresa’s Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Margaret Jo Hogg Dementia Support Center (formerly ACTO/Alzheimer's Outreach Center), 314 N. Jefferson St., Albany, GA 31701.
