Myron Hancock, Jr. (Junior to his friends) and everyone was his friend! Daddy (Junior) lived his life committed to Jesus Christ and now he is with Him! His faith became sight on December 7th and he watched his first sunset in heaven! He loved the Lord and was a great prankster! No one ever knew what he would do next! Five minutes after he transitioned from Earth to Heaven, his nurses started telling stories of his antics. We went from crying to laughing in an instant! Daddy lost his leg to a rare form of bone cancer in 1969, but it never slowed him down! He had a grip of steel from walking on crutches, but he had the emotional peace and control to serve Jesus and others in need. He would give everything he had to help others without hesitation! Few men like him have ever existed and we are richer for having known him! Today Heaven is a better place because he is there! Our momentary loss is Heaven’s gain! He is now face to face with Jesus and reunited with his first love Shirley after a 40 year separation due to her early death, but they now live together for all of eternity! The next time we see Daddy, he will be walking on two legs! Cancer does not exist in Heaven as all things are made new including missing limbs restored and bodies made supernaturally whole without defect! He loved tomato soup, but now is enjoying the wedding feast of the Lamb of God and it is much better than tomato soup! Daddy’s rewards in Heaven are great because he made our lives great! He defied the odds his entire life; when the doctors said, he would never get off of the operating table during his leg amputation in 1969 he beat the odds and not only lived a full and inspiring life for another 52 years, but he out lived all of his doctors! The King of Heaven determined the number of Daddy’s days and they were many and they were lived fully! And now they are lived eternally! He leaves behind his wife of 39 years Trisha and a family who adored him. To all of you far and wide who loved him know he loved you too. You enriched his life and Jim and I thank you. Surely goodness and mercy followed Daddy all the days of his life and now he dwells in the house of the Lord forever. We will miss him.
