Mr. Cecil Gordon Rouse

Cecil Gordon Rouse, Jr., 75, of Albany, GA, entered his eternal home in glory on Thursday, January 11, 2024. He lived his life as a faithful witness to his Lord & Savior Jesus Christ and served others with his whole heart. Gordon, known fondly as “Bubba” by his family, was born in Albany, Georgia on November 30, 1948 to Cecil Gordon Rouse, Sr. and Louise West Rouse. He graduated from Albany High School in 1966, and attended Albany Junior College. He was a hard worker who pursued various business occupations that suited his abilities, including management, sales, and owning his own business. He spent many years witnessing and preaching at Lee State Prison and at The Anchorage. He was an active member of Life Church in Leesburg. He shared his faith with everyone he came in contact with, had a positive outlook on life, a great sense of humor, loved his family, was kind, generous, and sincere. During his retirement years, he and his wife, Diane, enjoyed estate sales, church activities, time spent with friends and family, and helping others. Gordon was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Helen Louise McDaniel, and niece Kimberly McDaniel. He is survived by his loving wife of 13 years, Diane Rouse, his mother-in- law, Laverne Shaw of Colquitt, sons Russell Rouse and Richard Rouse of Albany, daughter Rebekah (Kevin) Patterson of Northport, AL, son Randall Rouse of Long Beach, CA, step- daughter Danielle Downs, of Phoenix, AR and sister Connie (Chuck) Griggers of Macon. He is survived by six grandchildren, Gavin (Laykin) Rouse, Rachel Rouse, Ryleigh Rouse, Charlie Patterson, Abigail Patterson and Shaw Downs, two nieces, two great nieces, four great-great nieces and one great-great nephew. Visitation will be Tuesday, Jan. 16 at 10:00am at Kimbrell-Stern, Albany, GA, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 11:00am, and internment at Crown Hill Cemetery in Albany. Pastor Matthew Schluckebier of Life Church in Leesburg will officiate, as well as Charlie Rouse of Albany (a.k.a.“The Medicine Man”).
